Salary from £120,000 - £150,000 + Bonus & Benefits
This well-liked major UK law firm has an excellent new opportunity for a further mid- to senior-level Associate to join their busy and thriving Competition team based in London. This highly-rated group advises clients on the full range of UK and EU competition law issues, from merger control and national security, to antitrust investigations and competition litigation; (beyond the scope of this role) the team also advise on consumer law enforcement, State aid and subsidy control, public procurement and international trade law. They take great care to understand the nuances of how competition authorities operate in different industries, with their sector focused approach enabling them to advise on market-leading matters (key strategic sectors for the firm and group are Energy, Advanced Manufacturing and Technology (incl. TMT, Life Sciences and Pharma), Financial Services and Infrastructure, as well as Government and Real Estate). This is a particularly exciting time to join the firm, given their continued growth in the UK and internationally, including across Europe, with the role providing a superb opportunity play a key role in the growth and expansion of the competition practice across these new areas. The team are looking to encourage applications from lawyers at leading City, international or national law firms in the UK or Brussels, in-house lawyers from industry, and also from any of the competition regulators. To succeed in the position, you will need to have strong technical legal skills, with experience in a number of: merger control, the National Security & Investment Act, antitrust investigations and advisory including cartels, vertical agreements, abuse of a dominant position, competition law compliance, market studies and investigations, and competition litigation; and be willing to undertake a mix of work across these areas.
