This major UK and international law firm has an excellent new opportunity for an ambitious Senior Associate to join their well respected Banking & Finance practice in Dubai to work closely with their lead partner in developing and servicing this busy and fast expanding high-level practice. The position carries excellent future career prospects via working as No.2 to this respected and well-liked lead partner in this dynamic and high-growth situation. Their impressive client list includes a range of major international and local banks and corporates, with deals spanning much of the MENA region and beyond. Work of the team spans a variety of big-ticket B&F transactions, including complex and high-value syndicated loans, acquisition finance, and real estate finance mandates (and covering both conventional and Islamic finance structures). Applicants will therefore need to show strong experience in at least one or more of these key areas, along with excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills; a proven track record in cross-border transactions (and in working with international clients); and an ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously and under tight deadlines. A strong technical knowledge of Banking law and practice in the UAE would be preferred but isn't essential (and applicants both from within the ME region and those seeking to relocate to the UAE from abroad are encouraged to apply). You should also ideally have a UK or Commonwealth legal qualification, along with a strong legal academic background.
